From this small select kennel we have produced many Show Champions and Champions, including the foundation stock of many of the current UK kennels.

Sunhouse Gundogs have had a very successful career in Wirehairs, having owned or bred to date seven Show Champions and Champions. We have also produced many other winning progeny and these have gone on to produce Champions and Show Champions for other kennels. Several other Wirehairs have been successful in the field for their owners.

Sunhouse German Wirehaired Pointers began in 1979 with the purchase of Wiggmansburg Leonardo of Sunhouse, who started his illustrious show career from the Not Separately Classified classes. From the age of 16 months when he won his very first Best In Show award, this making him the first GWP to achieve this such award.

went on to become the first UK Show Champion GWP

He was Top winning dog for 1980, 1981 & 1986

and Best of Breed at Crufts in 1986 and 1987.

In 1986, when only 8 sets of CC's were on offer, Leonardo was to win 5 of these, 4 with BOB. At the height of his career retired at the age of 8 years.

Wiggmansburg Mystique of Sunhouse became our foundation bitch and along with Sh. Ch. Wittekind Tallisman of Lufbra (who achieved his title in our ownership) produced the Sunhouse GWP's. Together they became the Top Brood Bitch for 1991 & 1992 and Top Stud Dog for 1992.
